I will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign or domestic.  I took this oath in the Army, and I will proudly take it again when you elect me to Congress, because I believe the United States is the greatest nation on earth and we are in serious trouble.

The first and most important responsibility of the federal government is to provide for our common defense.  The threat we face today from terrorists is just as serious as the threats our nation faced in 1941 and during the Cold War.  Islamic fundamentalists are committed to destroying our way of life.  They will not stop until they have won, or until they are defeated.  Every generation faces a test, and this is ours.
